re: Raiding Policy and Raiding Reset Timers
by Diaper on Tue Jun 05, 2007 11:13 am
Many players are new to raiding so this is something that needs to be explained so that everyone knows how it works. Please make sure that the example below does not happen. If you have any questions about this just ask.
Karazhan, Gruul's Lair and beyond are all set on timers. The instances reset every Tuesday or every 7 days. This means that if you are on a raid in these places and you kill a boss, your character is saved with that kill. This is the reason that our members are not allowed to raid with any other guild. I'll give an example:
Diaper raids Karazhan with another guild on Tuesday... He kills the first 3 bosses on the run. The next day Wednesday, Diaper starts a raid with our guild for Karazhan for the first time. Guess what happens? Yeap you guessed it right... Diaper is saved to the the other run with the other guild and cannot raid with our guild. Diaper did a very very big NO NO!!! BAD, BAD Diaper!!! What this does is prevents any member in our guild from being able to help Oculus advance in raiding. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is... You have joined this guild to help us progress and that is the primary concern. Mains and alts are not allowed to raid with any other guild... all characters (mains and alts) should be available to substitute in at any time. This will maximize our potential for success. Oculus should be the only raiding guild that you are in!!!
There is nothing wrong with having other characters in other guilds but they should never raid... if your alt is saved to another instance and we need him/her then we will not be able to use them to help us progress. You joined Oculus so that you can be part of the great progression that we have made, please don't jeopardize your good standing by not following our policy. Please discuss this with Diaper if you have any questions.
